Weekend in Kuala Lumpur! Part 2

We spent an evening and morning exploring the famous Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The Petronas Towers, also known as the Petronas Twin Towers and colloquially the KLCC Twin Towers, are an interlinked pair of 88-storey supertall skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, standing at 452m above street level. The connecting skybridge is on the 41st floor, with the view level on the 86th floor.

During the evening we strolled around the grounds, with fountains and water features in both the front and rear. The large fountains on the back of the towers feature a water show set to music and lights which drew crowds to ooohs and ahhhs. It was a pleasant way to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere around the towers. The inside of the towers features a huge shopping mall, with all the high-end retailers prominently laid out along the main aisle (Malaysia LOVES their malls!). Personally I was more impressed by the stated capacity of 5400 parking spaces hidden beneath the structure itself. In 1998 it was the tallest building in the world, but today only comes in at #21 (You can see #2 tallest, the Merdeka Tower, from the Petronas Towers fyi). The structure and surrounding areas are amazing, and the views are breathtaking, with the top floors literally hiding in the clouds at times.

Sadly, our time in KL was over, so we hopped the train and then caught a ferry back to our home island of Penang. So much to see and do, this will not be our last trip to KL!
