Leaving a Funny Footprint on this world!
I've never been one to post much online about myself, since others have been doing that for me for decades (both with and without my knowledge). It was never that important to me. However now I feel the need to put some things in the public eye (albeit a very very small eye) of the ongoing adventures me and my family. This is by no means the ONLY adventures we've had, but a snapshot of some things that have truly impacted us and will in some way continue on throughout our lifetimes.
One of the defining moments of these years was becoming known as 'PEGLEG' (Peg, Step'n'drag, Kickstand, Peggy, Stumpy etc) when I lost my left leg in a motorcycle accident. This particular adventure is a never ending ongoing source of humor and challenge for me and those around me. FYI, still love motorcycles, and my wife still rides, but doesn't want me to ride (but she is okay with me working on and keeping her bikes running like tops).
Another adventure are the decades I spent in the Paintball industry, first as an amateur and then as a professional player, as well as in the retail side. With the opportunity to travel with teammates/friends to play a heart pounding game in incredible places. I still love playing paintball and cherish those years and the lifelong friends I've made.
And for those that are unaware, I am the 'Wave at the bus' guy, aka 'the world's most embarrassing Dad' as dubbed by the British press (if you don't know, google it). Yes, I did that for my son. Which shockingly went viral world wide and caused us to appear on national & international talk shows, reality shows, and more interviews than I can remember in more languages than I remember. Why did I do it? I love my son. I thought sending him off everyday to school with a smile or laugh would help him get through. FYI, he is now grown up and we GREAT friends and truly enjoy being together. Every so often we still get requests for interviews somewhere in the world...
These few things are just a tiny part of the adventure that is my and my family's life. Now a NEW life altering adventure for us has begun, and it has been requested and impressed on me to include all of you, my friends, in this new journey. Three days ago my wife, (Rochelle), my son (Riot) and I moved to Penang, Malaysia. My amazing wife (who is much smarter than me) has taken her career to new heights, and accepted an exciting new position on the island of Penang (which is 4 hours north of Kuala Lumpur). I am fortunate to be a hanger on her coattails, and now I have this incredible opportunity to live and learn about life in Malaysia! I plan to document life here, as well as creating a vlog (which takes time to learn how to do properly, I'm finding out). If you have interest in seeing the world through my eyes, and to be honest my eyes are not focused correctly, then stay posted for Funny Footprints version of Penang, Malaysia!
